As a former techie, I know the city’s digital infrastructure isn’t good enough. For too long, the city government has had a monopoly on how residents engage with it. Let’s disrupt that. As commissioner, I’ll use my tech background to push the city to be more transparent and responsive.

As commissioner, I will:

• Build a civic tech network of neighbors who code, design and work with data, and put them to work on tools that use the city’s public data.
• Lead an effort to build a free tool that tracks bus and train reliability in our neighborhood. WMATA has promised to track bus reliability the way volunteer apps like MetroHero once did, and we can do it for our neighborhood now, so we can bring hard numbers to WMATA and DDOT when service falls short.
• Keep pushing to improve 311 by publishing regular reports on open requests in our district, following up on the ones that stall, and pressing agencies to fix what’s broken.
