I’m a journalist, audio engineer and proud resident of Columbia Heights. I moved here in 2021 for a job at The Washington Post and immediately fell in love with the neighborhood.
Many nights you can find me chatting with friends and neighbors at The Wonderland Ballroom, where I was proud to host one of the legendary Sundress Festivals and serve as a judge for the most recent one.
I’m running for ANC because I want every resident to feel the same spirit of camaraderie and connection I’ve felt here for the last five years. As a journalist, I’ve spent over a decade in the weeds of city policy, interviewing lawmakers, city planners, budget officials, mayors and former presidents. It’s given me a real understanding of the relationship between people and their government, and now I want to use that knowledge to deliver for the people of Columbia Heights.
My vision for Columbia Heights is a neighborhood where people know each other. That means cleaner streets, more homes and a city that answers when we call. But it also means more reasons to get out of the house, whether that’s a movie night in the park, a cultural event on 11th Street or a block cleanup that ends with a drink at Wonderland, Buddy’s, El Chucho or Red Rocks. As your commissioner, I want to help make this a place where people love to live and have fun doing it.
